BlurbWhere Legend and History Collide,
One Young Woman Will Fight for the Innocent
Born a baron's daughter, Lady Merry Ellison is now an enemy of the throne after her father's failed assassination attempt upon the king. Bold and uniquely skilled, she is willing to go to any lengths to protect the orphaned children of her former village--a group that becomes known as "The Ghosts of Farthingale Forest." Merry finds her charge more difficult as their growing notoriety brings increasing trouble their way.
Timothy Grey, ninth child of the Baron of Greyham, longs to perform some feat so legendary that he will rise from obscurity and earn a title of his own. When the Ghosts of Farthingale Forest are spotted in Wyndeshire, where he serves as assistant to the local earl, he might have found his chance. But when he comes face-to-face with the leader of the thieves, he's forced to reexamine everything he's known.

From the moment I first saw the description of this book, I was ready to read it. In fact, the review copy came in after Dauntless had released on ebook. So, of course, I jumped the gun and bought it on kindle..Because patience isn't exactly my cup of chamomile.
This book is amazing! For real, guys! These Young Adult novels just keep getting better and better. Dauntless is a fabulous addition to the medieval-era shelf. This makes it an automatic on some peoples list (any obsessive medieval readers besides me?), but even if medieval isn't really your thing, I strongly recommend you give this book a try!
I loved the storyline, and the wonderfully well-written characters, and the spiritual theme. Admittedly, Allen (one of the young men in the "Ghosts") ended up being my favorite. However, I still loved Merry and Timothy as the main characters, and enjoyed their story immensely. Dauntless was a fantastic tale filled with adventures of young people finding their own story. Sleiman has certainly exceeded my expectations with this YA, and I can't wait to read her next adventure.
